I love that it is Friday and I’m already on my third day off. WOO HOO! Glory. To celebrate, I did a fat lot of nothing today, as did the lazy animals.
I also did some gardening. One of my favorite hobbies is hole-digging. I’m not kidding. But I don’t like to dig in hard, compacted soil, I only like hole-digging when there are perfect hole-digging conditions. Like now. The soil is soft from rain, but not muddy. Man, is it ever satisfying to turn over a whole load of dirt, and make fluffy, plantable areas where before there was just a compacted, weedy mess. Today I dug out a new area for planting, and turned over an area that was used for tomatoes and miscellany and replanted it with transplanted artichokes. Besides hole-digging, I also really like moving plants around. Plants don’t love this, but I’ve found that they are much more tolerant of it than you would think (like the orange tree that I dug up). Anywho, some things were moved today. Some of them may or may not live, so we’ll see how it goes.
The persimmon leaves are lovely:
The peppers are confused, and only now starting to put out little pepper babies. So sad, peppers. So sad.
These are growing. I can’t remember if they are pea-peas or snow-peas. I’m leaning towards pea-peas, but either way, I ate these three today.
Finally, here is Gus’ little cat-hand.
Gus is pretty much the world’s greatest little cat.
The end.
