Introversion

Have you taken the Myers-Briggs test?  It is a personality test that rates you on four categories, and was all the rage in corporate everywhere a while back.  I officially took it the first time in grad school, and have taken it twice since then.  It is pretty interesting, I can’t remember what all of the letters stand for, and am too lazy to read up on it right now, but I am either an INTJ or IN- something else.  The last letters shifted a bit each time I took it, probably based on my job at the time.  The I, though, indicates that I am an introvert rather than an extrovert.  Introvert in this sense doesn’t mean shy, but rather where your energy comes from.  An extrovert finds people energizing.  After a hard day, they would choose to go out with a group of friends to “recharge.”  Me?  After a hard day I can barely watch TV because I find it too draining. And why won’t everyone just LEAVE ME ALONE!?!?

Work continues to kill me.  I still believe that it will get better, but, in a groundhog-day type way,  I’m predicting three more months of suckiness.  I crawled out of the towering stacks of papers on my desk, and I saw my shadow, yo.

My ability to cope worsens as the week goes on.  By Friday, I basically come straight home and crawl into bed.  Lately, it has taken working in the garden both Saturday and Sunday to start to feel normal again.

Anyway, no point to that other than I keep thinking that I need to update my blog (I took all sorts of garden photos this weekend!), but can’t quite muster the energy.  Hopefully next week!

In the meantime, for cheerful, here is Gus the day he came home for good from the Humane Society.  Look how tiny!  Look how cute!  He is so big now, I don’t think he could even fit in that basket.

I hear ya on the introvert thing!

When I saw the picture in my feed reader, for one brief moment I thought you had adopted another kitty!

Major introvert here, too! I find socializing rather draining!

Erika, Gus does need a kitty ally to keep those dogs in check!

Amen! I love being home alone and snuggling the dog…either reading or trashy tv watching…and yes sometimes it’s just too hard to watch tv….which is why sleeping for 14 hours is also a great way to deal with life. HUGS!

I remember the first time someone said I was an introvert. I was so offended! Serial killers are introverts! But now I’m a proud introvert and have no problem telling people to leave me alone.
