I have officially been fitted for running shoes. It was a fascinating process at the local running store (fun fact, my feet are bigger than I thought!) that involved me running back and forth inside the store while my helper squatted down to get a good look at my feet and their own unique wonkiness.
I needed new running shoes both because parts were starting to fall off of the shoes I have, and also because one minute I was chatting with a coworker who said: “Do you have any interest in running a half marathon?” and then next minute, this:
Another coworker is a serious-and-for-reals runner, and he whipped up personalized schedules for each of us. It is all very fancy.
In the meantime, I up and decided to run a 10K last weekend, and the combination of peer pressure and fear of public shaming is shaping up to be quite the motivation!
